| Meadowbrook Road Treatment Plant |
The treatment plant is an aerobic biological treatment facility consisting of grit removal, primary clarification, biological treatment using trickling filters, secondary clarification, denitrification with towers, filtration with shallow bed sand filtration units, and disinfection using ultraviolet technology. Waste sludge is thickened, thermally treated and then stabilized using anaerobic biological sludge digestion process. This plant also includes a septage receiving station and methane gas utilization system. The current permitted hydraulic capacity of the facility is 4,900,000 gallons per day.
Total property owned by the Authority for the treatment plant is 23.6255 acres in which approximately 9 acres is used for the treatment plant or the fenced in area.
